Meet the Team

Allsop has appointed dedicated resources to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Act. Our internal Health and Safety Team has been strengthened by the appointment of a Health and Safety Manager, bringing the team to four members in total. The team is led by Mat Thompson, Head of Health and Safety.

Allsop has established a Primary Authority Partnership with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. This type of partnership is highly regarded within the industry and serves as an invaluable source of expert advice and regulatory support.

A Primary Authority Partnership is a legally recognised agreement between a business and a local authority or fire and rescue service, backed by the UK Government. It provides specialist oversight and review of a business’s policies and practices to ensure they meet regulatory standards.

Through this partnership, Allsop is able to access robust and reliable advice that other enforcing authorities are required to take into account during inspections or when addressing issues of non-compliance. This helps to prevent conflicting interpretations of legislation by different local or fire authorities and supports consistent, confident decision-making across our portfolio. The partnership also reduces the risk of enforcement action, which could otherwise result in reputational and financial harm to both Allsop and our clients.

The partnership is formally approved by the Secretary of State and recorded on the Primary Authority Register. As part of this relationship, we receive Assured Advice, providing an additional layer of reassurance in our compliance processes. For example, in situations where the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) raises concerns regarding fire-related impairments, such as ongoing fire door replacements or façade works, the Primary Authority can provide supporting guidance to demonstrate that proportionate mitigation measures are in place, underpinned by expert backing. This offers comfort and confidence to the BSR.

In addition, Allsop has made a significant investment in RiskWise, a market-leading software platform used to manage and monitor risk across our managed properties. This system further strengthens our ability to maintain current and future compliance with evolving legislation.
