ESG
Environmental
Allsop has significant experience supporting buildings through environmental accreditation processes, including BREEAM. Most recently, we guided Barings through BREEAM assessments for both Vox and The Keel, achieving “Very Good” ratings on both schemes. Our team is well-versed in working with a variety of client-appointed consultants and understands how even small operational changes can improve sustainability outcomes and certification scores.
We actively monitor recycling and waste management across our managed portfolio, with a strong focus on landfill avoidance and carbon footprint reduction. Energy consumption is tracked in real time across our assets, enabling us to contribute meaningful data to client-led sustainability initiatives, including pan-European ESG reporting frameworks. Many of our institutional clients, including Aviva and Barings, operate Green Funds, and our approach to asset mobilisation is always tailored to align with their sustainability targets — from the early design stages of amenities through to ongoing operational performance.
In addition, Allsop recently guided The Lark through a Fitwel certification process, achieving a 2-star accreditation — further demonstrating our commitment to healthier, more sustainable buildings.
Social
At the core of our operations is a commitment to people — our clients, our residents, our teams, and the communities in which we operate.
Allsop has an excellent Health & Safety (H&S) track record, giving clients peace of mind through a proactive and compliant approach. We manage all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and statutory compliance in accordance with relevant British Standards and regulations.
We employ advanced H&S software that includes a live ‘Golden Thread’ dashboard, providing our clients with real-time visibility of compliance status across their assets. We also manage ‘Mandatory Occurrence Reporting’ and liaise with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) when required. Our in-house team produces Building Safety Case reports to ensure that clients meet their Principal Accountable Person (PAP) duties under the Building Safety Act 2022 — offering a full lifecycle compliance service for buildings under our management.
In a UK industry first, Allsop formed a Primary Authority Partnership with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. This landmark initiative, approved by the Secretary of State, allows us access to expert regulatory guidance that can be applied portfolio-wide — further strengthening our leadership in building safety.
Allsop is also deeply committed to social value and corporate responsibility. Our culture is rooted in compassion, integrity, and service — extending not only to our employees and their families but also to the communities in which we operate. Our CSR Group, supported by the Performance Management Group, oversees the implementation of sustainability and community engagement policies throughout our day-to-day operations. We actively support charitable initiatives and encourage staff to participate in meaningful causes.
Community Engagement
We place high value on creating and sustaining vibrant communities — both within our buildings and in the wider areas they serve. We support this through corporate partnerships and direct contributions, including:
- LandAid Charitable Trust – supporting youth homelessness prevention through housing, education, and training. LandAid invests over £1 million annually into impactful UK-based projects.
- The Pat Allsop Charitable Trust – established in 1993 to support causes related to children, education, and poverty alleviation. Recent beneficiaries include UNICEF, Shelter, Barnardo’s, the International Justice Mission UK, London Children’s Ballet, and MacMillan Cancer Support.
